My name is Gabriela Rey, though on social media you probably know me as madameardent. I'm a graphic designer and editorial illustrator and, since 2020, I help authors all over the world dress their novels so they shine and find their place in the market. I love working hand in hand with you, having you present in every step of the process and making sure you feel accompanied, heard and, above all, that you enjoy your project as much as I enjoy creating it with you.
I'm passionate about my work. I've been working very hard for years to be able to do what I do and give your books the best treatment they deserve.
If you'd like to shape your story with care and enthusiasm, write to me at madameardent@gmail.com and we'll start this adventure together.
I was making book covers for free as a hobby while studying. It was a way to channel my creativity and my love for reading, never imagining it would become my profession.
I dropped out of my Marine Sciences degree. I didn't know what to do with my future and it was a complicated, gray year, full of uncertainty, in which I had to rethink where I wanted to go.
I finished studying graphic design, opened this account and got my first client. Many people doubted you could make a living from this, but I decided to try anyway and take the first step.
I was fired from a job where I was very unhappy and made the decision to study an advanced master's degree in graphic design to take my business to the next level and dedicate myself to this full-time.
More than 100 books carry my covers and more than 20,000 people follow my work. Today I'm a full-time freelancer and I live off what I love most: dressing stories so they find their readers.
I'm currently working on my first novel and I hope to share more soon about this professional branch of mine in letters and literature.
I want to help emerging professionals be able to make a living from this as freelancers and build their client base from scratch. The first project will be a complete course teaching you my work system step by step.
